RES expands offshore wind into two new markets.

Using its global expertise to help launch the offshore wind energy markets in Norway and Australia.RES has initiated development activities in two new offshorewind energy markets: Norway and Australia. With its unique advantage of combining local knowledge and skills with global offshore wind experience, RES is focused on supportingthe growth of the local industry in these markets.

In Norway, RES and Zephyr AS have formed a new consortium,

SIRAVIND, to participate in the Utsira Nord tender, competingfor one of the three available areas. The area underconsideration will utilize floating wind technology, with a generating capacity of approximately 500 MW. The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced this tender in March, with proposals due in September 2023. The three Utsira Nord sites will have a total capacity of 1.5 GW, with plans to be operational by 2030, supporting the Norwegian government'svision of reaching 30 GW of offshore wind by 2040.

Offshore wind is the next exciting chapter in Australia's renewable energy journey, helping to achieve the country's renewable energy goals. RES is exploring several coastal areasin Australia, particularly in the Gippsland region near the south coast of Victoria, where it can propose suitable projects to contribute to the state's 20% offshore wind target, while also attracting external economic investment for the local supply chain and long-term job opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Rob Fradley, RES's Commercial Director of Offshore Wind, commented: "To achieve net zero, we need to maximize all forms of renewable energy. Our early involvement in offshore wind has given us the ability to deliver projects that aid decarbonization while supporting economic growth.

"Our focus is on how to help Australia and Norway develop local industries to take advantage of the growth in the offshore wind sector, supporting localproduction/manufacturing and employment opportunities, as we know these are drivers of success."

With its extensive global knowledge and experience in the field, RES is well positioned to develop projects in both markets.
